Former coach of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, condolences on the death of the Red Devils legend, Bill Foulkes. Foulkes died after falling ill on Monday ( 25/11/2013 ). He joined Manchester United in 1951 and the first diving debut at Old Trafford against Liverpool on December 13, 1952.


Over 19 years with Manchester United, Foulkes diving total 688 matches and scored nine pack. He also successfully presented four Premier League champions, 1 FA Cup, 1 European Cup, as well as 4 Charity Shield.

"I am very sad to hear this news. Bobby ( Charlton ) and I talked about Bill yesterday while traveling home from Cardiff. He is a very good man and also a great servant of the club," said Ferguson.

"When I came the first time as a trainer, Bill was training in Norway and he brought his players in a steep cliff. Practice he often came to MU and I know him better than that. He was a quiet man and good," he added.

Foulkes is a living witness to the tragedy of Munich 1958. He survived the tragedy with Bobby Charlton, Johnny Berry, Jackie Blanchflower, Dennis Viollet, Ray Wood, Kenny Morgans, Harry Gregg, Albert Scanlon, and Matt Busby.

"The story is extraordinary journey of his life. She was able to assure his place in the club's history with the appearance and the way he played, especially after the Munich tragedy," said Ferguson.
